  Meditate and Destroy
(USA, 2008, 75 mins.) Asian Premiere

Meditate and Destroy is a film about punk rock, spirituality, and inner rebellion. The film focuses on the bestselling author of Dharma Punx and Against the Stream, Noah Levine. Tattoos, motorcyles, and Buddha are featured in this hard-hitting look at how Buddhism has a place in the world of punks. This inspiring film opens our perception to the possibilities of finding new paths - even in our darkest hours.

This film provides an up-close look at how the driving forces in Noah’s life changed from violence, addiction and rebellion to taking on the role of dedicated meditation teacher and community leader – an individual whose candor inspires others to integrate Buddhist teachings of nonviolence and inner peace with a Western lifestyle.

Similar to punk culture’s non-conformist attitude, Buddhism has long been seen as a tradition that goes "against the stream". The film’s visual aesthetic reflects this similarity. The film employs motion graphics reflecting the punk aesthetic that are complemented by an experimental movement through the various scenes exploring Noah Levine's past and present life.

Interviews include renowned Buddhist teachers Jack Kornfield, Stephen Levine and Ajahn Amaro.

Bali - Life is an Offering
(Indonesia, 2011, 90 mins.)

There's one word that comes up time and again when people speak of Bali, magic.. It's a magic that's stitched into the everyday fabric of Balinese lives. It's rooted in the ancient, and vibrantly alive in the present. It awakens all who are open to it, reminding them of what really matters. Inspired by just experiencing Bali, the Balinese and the positive stories of interactions between some of the expat community with Balinese culture, the film celebrates the Balinese philosophical concept of Tri Hita Karana "harmony between the divine, mankind and nature." Bali - Life is an Offering explores the profound natural beauty, graceful people and age-old spiritual traditions found on the Island of the Gods.

Produced by an award-winning international team, the flow and themes in the film constantly evolved through the cross-cultural collaborations that are constantly happening on the island. From the director of multi award winning documentary Whaledreamers, Kim Kindersley, co written and narrated by Cok Sawitri, with a rich lyrical music score produced by Rob Weber of the Bali Spirit Festival - featuring many of Bali's divine musicians, including recording star Ayu Laksmi and guest artists such as Ganga Giri from Australia.

"Sound of the Soul offers an insider's look at this celebration of spirituality and art."
(The New York Times)

"Part travelogue, part primer on world religions, part concert film, Sound of the Soul delivers a powerful and timely message."
(Les Wright, CultureVulture)

  Sound of the Soul
(USA, 2005, 70 mins.) Thailand Premiere

In a world increasingly polarized by religious conflicts and fundamentalist forces,
Sound of the Soul transports viewers on an exhilarating and thought-provoking cinematic journey, reverberating with unity, understanding, and most of all, hope. Award-winning director Stephen Olsson's new film is a vivid, multi-layered portrait of both of an open-minded Arab city and The Fez Festival of World Sacred Music, an exceptional event that invites Muslim, Christian and even Jewish men and women to perform in public at its historic sites.

The film explores the heart of Fez itself: its heritage of tolerance as an ancient sanctuary for people of different faiths; its mystical Islamic foundations; its evocative medieval settings. This is the ideal location for an unforgettable festival that brings together a unique array of musicians - a transcendent chorus of African Berber women, a Portuguese Fado singer, a French early music ensemble, players and vocalists from Afghanistan, England, Russia, Ireland, Mauritania, Turkey and finally, a gospel band from New York City. All are intermixed with ecstatic Sufi performers and all are connected through their artistry by profound expressions of love and longing.
